Blondshell has finished the follow-up to her fantastic 2023 breakthrough. That’s the “secret” (she’d previously revealed it in her Instagram stories, too) she told the packed house at Baby’s All Right on Monday night (10/21), where she was playing an intimate show presented by Spotify’s alt-rock playlist Marrow. She followed that by launching into the album’s first track, “T&A,” confirming it stands for tits and ass, and starting the song with a scream. It was an auspicious beginning and the track itself immediately had the hallmarks of Blondshell’s best, with candid lyricism and grungy guitars. We don’t know anything else about the album yet, but hopefully we’ll hear soon.
Blondshell’s Baby’s set also included her most recent single, August’s “What’s Fair,” this year’s Bully collaboration, “Docket,” and plenty of songs from her self-titled album, wrapping up with an impassioned take on “Salad.” See her setlist and attendee-taken video from her set below.
Momma opened the show, and played their first single in nearly 2 years, “Ohio All The Time;” it’s out today, along with a video directed by Zach Shorrosh. “We wrote it about a summer when we were on tour, and it felt like everything in our lives changed within a one-month span,” they say. “We wanted the video to capture that youthful feeling, like the world is brand new and everything is ahead of you. We went upstate to our friend’s house near Hudson to film, and just spent the whole day goofing off and running around.”
