Yo La Tengo are in the home stretch of their 2025 Hanukkah run and Saturday was Night 7. Lucinda Williams was the surprise musical opener and Al Madrigal provide comic relief.
As for Yo La Tengo, they had longtime collaborator David Mansfield join them on violin and pedal steel the whole show and the set included “Night Falls on Hoboken,” “I Feel Like Going Home,” “Flying Lesson (Hot Chicken #1),” “We’re An American Band,” “The Story of Yo La Tengo,” “Our Way to Fall,” and more.
For the encore, Yo La Tengo covered Richard Hell’s “Love Comes in Spurts,” and then brought out Lucinda Williams for Ohio Express'”Yummy Yummy Yummy” and YLT’s “Tears Are In Your Eyes,” before finishing with The Velvet Underground’s “Pale Blue Eyes.”
