The increasingly famous country singer Zach Bryan brought his Quittin Time Tour to Brooklyn for the first night of a two-night stand at Barclays Center last night (3/27), and he had a big surprise when he brought out Bruce Springsteen for his two-song encore. Bruce is in the midst of a string of West Coast dates and flew into NYC for the occasion.
The Boss joined him for a new, not-yet-released Zach Bryan song called “Sandpaper,” as well as “Revival” from Zach’s 2020 album Elisabeth. Maggie Rogers, who showed up during the main set to sing her duet on “Dawns” with Zach, also joined for the latter.
As Rolling Stone‘s Brian Hiatt wrote, “As Bryan’s band stomped through ‘Revival,’ Springsteen sang along both on and off mic, sometimes sharing one with a clearly ecstatic, tambourine-toting Rogers. Springsteen also played a short but blazing guitar solo, and even joined the other players for a few choreographed moves.” Check out videos of the performances below.
Zach plays Barclays again tonight (3/28) with The Middle East and Levi Turner, followed by two more NYC-area shows at UBS Arena on Saturday (3/30) and Sunday (3/31) with the same openers, and he returns to Barclays on December 18 and 19 with Matt Maeson and Levi Turner. Tickets here.
Bruce’s tour includes upcoming shows in San Francisco, LA, Connecticut, Albany, the UK, and more, plus Asbury Park’s Sea.Hear.Now festival. All dates and tickets here.
