We’re now less than a week away from the 2024 election, and artists keep coming out to perform at Kamala Harris‘ rallies. Last night’s (10/30), which happened in Madison, WI, included a three-song acoustic performance from Matt Berninger and Aaron Dessner of The National. They did “Bloodbuzz Ohio,” “I Need My Girl,” and “Fake Empire,” with Berninger telling the crowd, “Get out there and vote. Tell all your friends to vote.” Their set starts at 37:50 in the video below.
Remi Wolf was also on hand, and told the crowd that Harris “understands that the right to make decisions about our own bodies is fundamental,” adding, “She’s committed to tackling big issues like climate change and, like me, she’s a girl from the Bay Area who loves to laugh and have fun.” Watch her appearance and performance of “Cinderella” starting at 11:45.
Gracie Abrams did three songs starting at 1:17:20, “I Love You, I’m Sorry,” “Risk,” and “Free Now.” “We’ve inherited a world that is struggling and it’s easy to feel disconnected and disillusioned,” she said in a statement directed at younger voters. “Between the advent of social media in our childhoods and COVID and relentlessly targeted disinformation, we’ve been through some things. It’s easy to be discouraged, but we know better. We know that unless we vote and keep our democracy intact, there is nothing we will be able to do to fix it when it is our turn.”
Mumford & Sons also did three songs, “Little Lion Man,” “Awake My Soul,” and “I Will Wait,” and their set starts at 1:41:10. “We love this place, we love this state,” Marcus Mumford said. “And I know it might not sound like it, cause I grew up in England, but I was born in America, I was born in California. And last week it was my great privilege to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz to be president and vice president of the United States of America. And I would encourage you to get with your mates, make a voting plan, and go out and vote, cause every vote will matter.”
