Watch Operation Ivy’s Jesse Michaels & Tim Armstrong reunite to play “Take Warning” with Specials members in LA

Operation Ivy still haven’t reunited, but Tim Armstrong (also of Rancid) and Jesse Michaels seem to be getting more and more comfortable with playing those songs together, especially when backyard LA shows and The Specials are involved. Last year, Tim and Jesse played “Sound System” at a backyard charity concert backed by members of The Interrupters, before Tim and Interrupters members performed as The Specials’ backing band, and now Stereogum reports that Tim and Jesse reunited again at the backyard tribute show to the late Specials vocalist Terry Hall on Saturday night (10/14). They played “Take Warning” backed by members of The Specials, and they sounded great and had the whole crowd singing along. Watch video of the special moment below.

The show also featured Fishbone, the non-Gwen Stefani members of No Doubt, L7’s Donita Sparks, the Go-Go’s’ Jane Wiedlin, Tom Morello, and more.

Tim and Jesse also have a new band that debuted earlier this year, originally called Bad Optix but now known as DOOM Regulator.
