Brooklyn grungegazers Mx Lonely released their very good new EP Spit earlier this year, and now they’ve just followed it with a new single, “Beauty Lasts For Never.” If you’re into Superheaven or Deftones or other things in that general realm, you should give this a listen. The video premieres in this post and the band tells us:
“Beauty Lasts For Never” is about the feeling of fleeting youth, temporal earthly experiences, learning to live and let live. It’s about coming to terms with your nightmares.
The video was directed by Gannon Padgett in a confined basement space that we dressed with plastic sheeting. We were looking to do something simple, visceral and performance driven that captured the energy of the song.
With the recording and mixing process it was our first time self-engineering anything in a studio, and we tried to keep things as simple and big as possible. Gabriel Garman (bass) pulled double duty performing live and engineering. We wanted the result to feel explosive and honest.
