Violet Grohl (the daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl) released her debut singles, “THUM” and “Applefish,” at the end of 2025, and she’s now announced her debut album. Be Sweet To Me is due out May 29 via Auroura Records/Republic. She recorded it with producer Justin Raisen and was influenced by late ’80s and early ’90s alt-rock like Pixies, Soundgarden, Cocteau Twins, The Breeders, PJ Harvey, The Muffs, Björk, Alice in Chains, L7, and Juliana Hatfield. “There’s something so powerful about that period of music, from the messaging to the visuals, it’s authentic and raw,” she says, adding, “I’ve listened to that stuff since I was a kid.” See the cover art and tracklist below, and pre-order it on vinyl in the BV shop.
The album includes “THUM” and “Applefish,” and the new single is “595.” According to a press release, it was inspired by a vintage t-shirt advertising a phone sex line, and you can watch the video, directed by Nikki Milan Houston, below.
Grohl has two festival dates lined up, Shaky Knees and Pukkelpop. Those are her only shows at the moment; stay tuned.
