The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die have already made their fair share of jokes about blink-182‘s California joke song “Built This Pool” (a 17-second song only featuring the lyrics “I wanna see some naked dudes / That’s why I built this pool”). Now they’ve gone one step further and recorded a stripped-down folky cover of the song, extending it to more than double the length of the original. This is all very real and true news. Listen below, along with one of TWIABP’s finest “Built This Pool” tweets.
It’s not the first time TWIABP have done something like this. You may remember their song “blank #69,” a 25-second cello cover of the riff to CKY’s “96 Quite Bitter Beings” (which was the b-side of a single that had a “cover” of John Cage’s 4’33” on the a-side).
TWIABP also revealed that their third album is finished and being mastered now “We outdid Harmlessness,” they say.
Meanwhile, read blink-182 Albums Ranked Worst to Best if you haven’t already, and catch blink-182 with Linkin Park and Wu-Tang Clan at Citi Field this summer.
.@markhoppus if you build it (this pool), they will come (naked dudes)
