TV on the Radio‘s Tunde Adebimpe has signed to Sub Pop as a solo artist and will release his debut on the label in 2025. While details on the album are still forthcoming, you can hear first single “Magnetic” now.
“Magnetic” was produced by Tunde and Chin Chin’s Wilder Zoby, with TVotR’s Jaleel Bunton getting a co-producer and co-writer credit, and the band’s current drummer, Jahphet Landis, also has a co-write credit. The song has a bit of that “Wolf Like Me” propulsiveness to it. Tunde directed the song’s music video and you can check that out below.
Says Sub Pop co-founder Jonathan Poneman, “We heartily welcome Tunde Adebimpe to Sub Pop’s roster of artists. His inclusion makes the whole lot better – and a whole lot classier! We’ve waited 20-plus years for Sub Pop to earn the chance to be Tunde Adebimpe’s label.”
Meanwhile, TV on the Radio play their first shows in half a decade soon: November 25, 26, 29 & 30 at Webster Hall; LA on December 4, 5, and 7 at El Rey Theatre; and London on December 10, 11, and 12 at Islington Assembly Hall.
