Travis Barker dedicates blink-182 album to Jerry Finn, says more music is coming, & more in AMA

blink-182 just released their first Mark, Tom, and Travis album in 12 years, One More Time…, and Travis has taken the opportunity to answer some fan questions about the album on Twitter. When asked, “If you had to dedicate this album to one person who would it be?,” Travis–who produced this album–replied with the band’s late, longtime producer, Jerry Finn. He also said there are other songs from the sessions that will be released and more music videos are coming. In the recent Zane Lowe interview, the band said one of the songs on One More Time… dates back to the sessions for the Box Car Racer album, and Travis confirmed that that song is “Terrified.”

Update: Mark also commented on “Terrified” on Discord, saying, “My old ego would’ve rejected the boxcar song out of hand but this whole album was about getting past all that shit and just making music. It turned out so good.”

“We just embraced everything about blink that we loved and didn’t second guess or overthink,” he said in other post. “It allowed us to write songs that felt like Enema or TOYPAJ or untitled or something we hadn’t ever done.”

When someone asked Mark if he was influenced by Peter Hook bass lines on “Blink Wave,” he replied “influenced by Peter Hook on all my songs.”

Mark also tweeted, “sitting here listening to the album on release day, thinking of everything that happened to bring us to this point. the joy, the pain, the laughter, the friendship. holy shit.”
