Major streaming services Spotify and Apple Music have both revealed their stats of the most-streamed music of the year, but if you’re really curious what songs are blowing up, you’d be remiss not to look at the most-played songs on TikTok as well, ranked by the number of “creations” that use them. The top song in the US on TikTok this year was Tommy Richman‘s “Million Dollar Baby,” and there are other big ones in the top 10 like Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign‘s “Carnival” (with Rich The Kid and Playboi Carti), Future & Metro Boomin‘s “Type Shit” (with Travis Scott and Playboi Carti), Flo Milli‘s “Never Lose Me,” Billie Eilish‘s “Birds of a Feather,” and GloRilla‘s “TGIF,” though I was today years old when I realized Blood Orange‘s 2011 song “Champagne Coast” recently went viral enough to come in at #6 on this list. FloyyMenor & Cris Mj‘s reggaeton hit “Gata Only” tops TikTok’s chart worldwide and comes in at #10 in the US. They also released a list of top artists ranked by views on their TikTok accounts, with Sabrina Carpenter coming in at #1 in the US and Yeri Mua coming in at #1 worldwide. Ice Spice, NLE Choppa, Billie Eilish, Meghan Trainor, Olivia Rodrigo, Addison Rae, KATSEYE, Benson Boone, and Lay Bankz round out the US list.
