Today is Earth Day, and Thurston Moore is celebrating with a great new single, “Rewilding.” It was made with Deb Googe (also of My Bloody Valentine) on bass, James Sedwards on guitar/piano/organ, Wobbly (aka Jon Leidecker) on synths/textures, and some polyrhythmic drumming from Jem Doulton. It kinda sounds like something that Thurston might’ve written for Sonic Youth in the Washing Machine/A Thousand Leaves era, and it’s a great one. Check it out below.
A press release also notes that details on Thurston’s upcoming album Samurai Walkman: Flow Critical Lucidity will be revealed in the coming weeks, including release date and special guests that appear on the album. Tour dates TBA as well.
