The Lemon Twigs‘ Brian D’Addario has announced a solo album, Till the Morning, that will be out March 20 via the band’s own Headstack Records. The Lemon Twigs haven’t broken up; his brother and bandmate Michael D’Addario co-produced the album, sings harmony vocals and co-wrote two songs. The album also includes two songs written with LA poet and longtime Beach Boys collaborator Stephen Kalinich. “When I started putting this album together, it really hung together musically and thematically,” Brian says. “It’s country baroque.”
The first single from Till the Morning is its title track, which is the kind of lush, harmony filled earworm that you’d expect from Brian. “It’s a love song having to do with those fleeting moments when you grasp something real, amidst all the noise and propaganda,” he says. “‘The night is pitch black until the morning.’ Maybe things need to completely collapse before they get better.”
