Vini Reilly has announced his first album as The Durutti Column in 16 years. It’s titled Renascent and will be out July 31 via London Records. The record was made with longtime collaborators/bandmates Keir Stewart and Bruce Mitchell, with contributions from Manchester singer-songwriters Caoilfhionn Rose. The artwork was created by Mark Holt and Hamish Muir of 8vo, whose work with Reilly dates back to his days at Factory Records.
The album comes following a renewed interest in The Durutti Column; they’ve been sampled by Dev Hynes on Blood Orange’s 2025 album Essex Honey, namechecked by Frank Ocean, and praised by Harry Styles, who has included a Durutti Column tribute as part of his curation of this year’s Meltdown Festival.
The first single from the album is “Liars,” which pairs Reilly’s distinctive guitar style with chill clubby beats. Listen to that below.
