The Cure have shared a short clip for “Alone,” which is presumably the first single on their forthcoming album Songs of a Lost World. Earlier this week people who connected with the band through their official WhatsApp were sent a message with lyrics “This is the end of every song we sing” and today they sent a message that said “want to hear ‘alone?'” If you clicked “YES” you were sent a link to a website with those lyrics on it and “ALONE.” People who also signed up for the Songs of a Lost World mailing list also got sent the link.
If you click “DISCOVER NOW” it then takes you to the Songs of a Lost World website (which they unveiled this week) that now says “CLICK TO BEGIN.” From there, you once again have to change to date to “I XI MMXXIV,” and when you do you get the stone-with-a-face image, but it also has “ALONE” attached to it and a 15 second clip of the song that has Robert Smith singing those lyrics. It sounds good!
Then WhatsApp sends another snippet to your phone that sounds like the start of the song.

Things are moving along, so hopefully there will be a formal announcement soon.
If the clues are what everyone seems to think they mean, Songs of a Lost World will be out November 1. Stay tuned.
