The Bats announce new album ‘Corner Coming Up’: hear 2 songs

New Zealand indie greats The Bats have announced Corner Coming Up, their 11th album and first in five years, which will be out October 17 via Flying Nun. The quartet, whose lineup (Robert Scott, Kaye Woodward, Paul Kean, Malcolm Grant) has been constant since forming in 1982, recorded it with Tex Houston, who also mixed it along with Kean.

There are two songs you can hear now: the fuzzy “Loline,” which was released back in the spring, and new single  “Lucky Day” which adds a little piano to The Bats’ signature jangly sound. Watch the video for both below.
