Talking Kind (Spraynard) announces debut LP, taps Radiator Hospital & The Goodbye Party for new song

Talking Kind (Pat Graham)

After debuting solo project Talking Kind with a single back in May, Spraynard and Big Nothing member Pat Graham has announced their first LP under the moniker. It Did Bring Me Down is due September 8 via Lauren Records (pre-order). “Everything I enjoy in life is funny,” Graham says. “Music is my sacred place so I was always afraid to be careless within that context. Given how I interact with the world outside of music, I don’t know why I waited so long to take myself a little less seriously in songwriting. There’s some dark stuff on this record, but it’s all looked at through a ‘hehe’ lens. It has helped me cope with the loss of my mother, my detachment from reality, and the ever-present void.” Check out the album artwork and tracklist below.

The newest single from It Did Bring Me Down is easygoing “Trouble,” featuring Radiator Hospital’s Sam Cook-Parrot and The Goodbye Party’s Michael Cantor. Of the song, Graham explains, “I’m a Libra, so I get called out for playing both sides. One week I’ll love a movie, the next I’ll be laying out all of its flaws. ‘I just say shit,’ is my response to these arguments. I also just say inappropriate or uncomfortable stuff a lot. While it makes me self-conscious, I ultimately embrace it. There’s a lot of posturing in life – I am happy to be the rude but lovable rascal at the water cooler.” Listen to “Trouble” below.
