Taking Back Sunday have just announced their eighth album ‘152,’ and we’ve teamed up with them on an exclusive white w/ blue splatter vinyl variant, limited to 500 copies.
As you may have heard (or seen footage of), Taking Back Sunday played a backyard house show on Long Island earlier this month. As it turns out, that show is where they filmed the music video for new single “S’old,” the second song released from their just-announced eighth album. The album’s called 152, named after the section of road in North Carolina that has been referenced on all of their album covers.
The video finds the band wearing the same matching burgundy suits that they’re wearing on the album cover and wore in the video for “The One,” and it features some familiar faces from the Long Island hardcore/emo scene, and ends with the band reminiscing about the last time they played a house show (and joking with touring member Nathan Cogan that he can’t go with the band to Montauk). The song title and chorus plays on the words “sold” and “so old” (“you’re gonna get sold / so old either way”), and it finds the band in pure, anthemic rock mode. Check out the song and video below.
The album was produced by pop producer Tushar Apte (Nicki Minaj, Demi Lovato, etc) and mixed by veteran pop punk producer Neal Avron (New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, etc). Adam Lazzara says, “You would think after 20 years, we knew what each other is going to do, but there were so many times making this record where I heard the initial idea and thought I knew where it would go, but then I was super surprised. It’s those kinds of surprises that make it so exciting. That’s why we all still want it so badly.”
