Six Organs of Admittance, aka Ben Chasny, has announced a new album, Time is Glass, which will be out April 26 via Drag City. He made this album after returning to where he grew up, Humbolt County, California, after nearly 20 years away, where reflections of his life inspired this set of songs.
The opening song on Time is Glass is “The Mission,” a delicately plucked spectral folk song featuring equally delicate falsetto. “A couple of years ago a good friend of mine was falling in love in a new country and the stories he told at the time were both beautiful and terrifying, sublime and on the edge,” Chasny says. “I wrote this song for him and his new partner after they had begun to figure out how to be together.”
