Sinai Vessel (aka Caleb Cordes) recently signed to Keeled Scales for his next album, and today he has announced that album. It’s called I SING, and it comes out on July 26 (pre-order). It was co-produced and mixed by past collaborator Bennett Littlejohn (who’s also worked with Hovvdy, Katy Kirby, and more), who also played bass on it, and Andrew Stevens played drums. Along with recent single “How,” it features the just-released “Best Witness,” a warm, breezy, folky indie rock song that Caleb says is “aging into the realization that very few people are going to know you better than you know yourself, and those that do are unlikely to grow in number.”
“Best Witness” comes with a video directed by Trent Wayne, who also handled the album artwork and accompanying photos. Caleb says, “Working with Trent’s brilliant approach to light, color, and humor was a deeply redemptive process considering the painful content of the songs, but they somehow feel rooted in the same place — when faced with a tough truth, one can either choose despair or joy, and it’s fun to present something with elements that list in both directions.” Check out the new song and video below.
