Sampha has finally announced his first album since 2017’s Process. It’s called Lahai, and Sampha writes on Instagram that “Lahai” is “My grandfather’s name. My middle name. My next musical chapter. My next album.” He also writes, “Fever Dreams. Continuums. Dancing. Generations. Syncopation. Bridges. Grief. Motherlands. Love. Spirit. Fear. Flesh. Flight.”
The announcement follows the recently-released “Spirit 2.0,” Sampha’s first solo single in six years, and his recent “Satellite Business” shows that saw him debuting new material. No release date for Lahai has been set yet.
In the time since Process, Sampha released collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Stormzy, Lil Silva, SBTRKT, and more.
