You may remember that, back in 2016, Run For Cover threw a one-day mini festival at all three rooms of NYC’s Webster Hall called Something in the Way, and now, to celebrate their 20th anniversary, they’re bringing it back for an even bigger edition in Boston. It’s co-presented with The Bowery Presents, which also turned 20 this year, and it happens across two nights at Roadrunner Boston, February 1 and 2.
The lineup includes a mix of bands from in an around Run For Cover’s orbit, not all of whom are signed to the label, including two ’90s legends who influenced a very large chunk of RFC bands, Slowdive and American Football. The rest of the lineup includes Balance and Composure, Soccer Mommy, Fiddlehead, Mannequin Pussy, Militarie Gun, Sweet Pill, Anxious, One Step Closer, Ovlov, Glare, Enumclaw, Sadurn, Gouge Away, Mini Trees, Great Grandpa, Dazy, Wishy, My Fictions, Women In Peril, and still more TBA.
Tickets go on RFC subscriber presale Tuesday (9/24) at 10 AM, Something in the Way presale Wednesday (9/25) at 10 AM, and on sale to the general public on Friday (9/27) at 10 AM.
American Football also announced that they’ll play a Connecticut show at District Music Hall on 1/31 right before Something in the Way. They’re also in the midst of their LP1 25th anniversary tour, with two Brooklyn shows coming up in October.
