Praise surprise-release new EP ‘Coming Up For Air’

Melodic hardcore band Praise (who share drummer Daniel Fang with Turnstile) released their first album in six years with 2022’s All In A Dream, and it’s only taken them two years to put out more new music. They just dropped the three-song Coming Up For Air on Revelation Records. It was recorded with Matt Redenbo at J. Robbins’ Magpie Cage Studio, and it features guest vocals from Pale Green Stars’ Haley Butters on the title track and “Chasing Colors.” Guitarist Anthony Dye says:

With All In A Dream, we really took our time and were super meticulous about details. We also used all of the resources of the studio to make things a little more layered and intricate.

On the new EP, we wanted to challenge that approach, and make something that felt more natural, like something that flowed more easily from the members of the band playing together in a room.

In classic Praise fashion, they wear their Revolution Summer-era influences on their sleeves (Dag Nasty, Embrace, Rites of Spring, etc) and they make it sound as fresh and lively in 2024 as it would have in the mid ’80s. Listen below and pick up a physical copy from Revelation. Praise also have some tour dates coming up in the Southeast and Colorado, and those are listed below too.
