PJ Western (JR JR) preps debut LP for New West (new video)

PJ Western is the new alias of Josh Epstein of JR JR (who before that were called Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr), and he’s set to release his debut album Here I Go on August 11 via New West Records (pre-order). The album was produced by Gus Seyffert (Beck, Michael Kiwanuka, etc), and it features Bedouine (aka Azniv Korkejian) on backing vocals throughout. Josh says he was inspired by the pop rock of ’60s AM radio, and you can hear those vibes coming through on the four singles he’s released so far. Today we’re premiering a fifth single, “Waiting Around,” which has lush, gentle vibes that recall anything from Burt Bacharach to The Left Banke.

PJ says:

Life moves fast. Information travels quicker than ever. Multitasking is the norm. I send and receive emojis instead of typing words because I’m always too busy. Have I adapted so far as to have lost patience for everything that isn’t instantaneous? I move in a hurry through a world that’s fast and quitting. And yet it always feels like I’m still waiting on something. Still stuck behind someone else in a rush. No matter what I do, I’m always waiting around.
