Franklin, Tennessee’s Pilgrimage Festival had to pull the plug on its 2018 edition early due to severe weather. Lightning in the area caused Saturday (9/22) night’s performances to be put on hold at 4:30 PM, then cancelled entirely as festival organizers advised attendees to seek shelter.

We along with the City of Franklin, Police and Fire Dept. have decided to discontinue programming for the night due to additional inclement weather on its way to Franklin as your safety is our first priority. You may enter the grounds to collect your personal belongings.

Jack White‘s set was among those cancelled on Saturday night; he posted to Facebook:
Due to the weather, Pilgrimage Festival, the City of Franklin, and the Police and Fire Departments discontinued programming at the Festival this evening for the safety of the festival goers and everyone involved. Jack looks forward to making up his performance for fans soon.
Sunday (9/23) at the festival was cancelled entirely, according to organizers, “due to the unsafe conditions at Harlinsdale Farm and the threat of continued inclement weather.”

Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Lord Huron, Bleachers, Jade Bird, and John Mooreland were among the artists on Sunday’s schedule.
The festival says they are “still finalizing” their refund plan and will provide more information to ticketholders as it becomes available. A few videos of the scene on the festival’s grounds yesterday are below.
Meanwhile, Louisville, KY festival Bourbon & Beyond was also forced to cancel their Sunday because of severe weather.
