Paul Simon recently said he was working on a new album called Stranger to Stranger, and now more details are here. It will be out in June, and Paul produced it with Roy Halee, who he’s worked with since the Simon & Garfunkel days. That’s the album artwork above, and the tracklist can be found below.
The first single is “Wristband,” and like on Paul’s last album — 2011’s So Beautiful Or So What — it’s pretty much Paul toying with the sounds that have always interested him (world music rhythms, folk guitar, etc) and still being able to make those sounds fresh. That’s pretty amazing for someone whose first classic song came out 52 years ago. Listen below.
As previously mentioned, Rhymin’ Simon is touring this year, including his first shows at Forest Hills Stadium since 1970 on June 30 and July 1. Night 1 is sold out, but tickets for night 2 are still available.
