Neil Young has been a very vocal critic of Donald Trump for more than a decade, and he released the protest song “Big Crime” last year; it’s maybe a little surprising he hasn’t turned that anger and frustration into an album already. It sounds like it’s finally happening, though. He posted on his Archives site that he and his band the Chrome Hearts are working on a new record that is inspired by and a reaction to the current state of affairs:

Last month, Neil Young canceled his 2026 tour plans (Europe), saying, “I have decided to take a break,” but that clearly doesn’t mean from making new music. Stay tuned, as they say.
