MUNA‘s Katie Gavin is on tour supporting her debut solo album, What a Relief, and on Wednesday night she wrapped up a two-show run at Bowery Balloom. While she makes glossy alt-pop with MUNA, she’s described her new album as “Lilith Fair-core,” and honoring that description, she brought out one half of Indigo Girls, Emily Salier, to join her for a rendition of their classic track “Closer to Fine.” Watch video of that below.
The fiddle and harmony-laden “The Baton” off What a Relief recalls Indigo Girls most strongly of all the album’s tracks, and Emily stayed onstage to join her for that one, too.
