Morgan Wallen was arrested in Nashville early Monday morning (4/8), local CBS affiliate WTVF reports. The country star, who was embroiled in controversy a few years ago over his use of a racial slur, was charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment, as well as disorderly conduct, after being accused of throwing a chair off the sixth story of Eric Church‘s new honky tonk, Chief’s Bar.
According to an arrest report, Metro Nashville officers standing in front of Chief’s witnessed a chair fall from above them, and viewed a video that showed Wallen “lunging and throwing an object over the roof.” The officers were told by Chief’s staffers that Wallen threw the chair, and he was also witnessed laughing after the incident.
A statement from Wallen’s attorney reads, “At 10:53p Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities.” He has also posted bond, which was set at $15,250.
Wallen’s current tour is set to have him back in Nashville in time for his court date on May 3; he has shows scheduled at Nissan Stadium on May 2, 3, and 4 following his set at Stagecoach on April 28.
Wallen was previously arrested for disorderly conduct in 2020, after getting kicked out of Kid Rock’s bar in Nashville.
