Militarie Gun recently put out two reworked versions of songs from Life Under The Gun, one of which features Bully, and now they’ve announced a whole EP of reworks like that, titled Life Under the Sun, including one with Mannequin Pussy, one with Manchester Orchestra, and a cover of NOFX‘s “Whoops, I OD’d.”
Along with the announcement comes the song with Manchester Orchestra, a new version of “My Friends Are Having A Hard Time” with piano, vocoder, and synthetic beats that sounds more like early Youth Lagoon or James Blake than Militarie Gun’s usual post-hardcore attack. It’s a drastic rework, and it comes with a video directed by Isaac Deitz that stars both Militarie Gun’s Ian Shelton and Manchester Orchestra’s Andy Hull. Check it out below. The EP comes out this Friday (1/26) via Loma Vista.
Militarie Gun are also gearing up for previously announced tour with Pool Kids and Spiritual Cramp, including NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on February 15 with additional support from Spaced. All dates are listed below.
