Milwaukee’s Midwestern Charm have been around since 2009 and they have two full lengths to date — a 2012 self-titled debut and last year’s Growing Pains. They recently signed to Texas Is Funny, who’s giving Growing Pains a re-release next week (4/21), and you can pre-order that here. The band take the jangly alt-rock of post-Replacements bands like Goo Goo Dolls and Gin Blossoms, and the nasal vocals of The Weakerthans, The Thermals or Modern Baseball, and they come out with something that’s familiar but instantly enjoyable. “Can’t Stand It” is an early highlight, but the whole record is good, and you can hear it for yourself below.
