Mercury Rev have offered up a second track from their new album, The Light in You. “Widescreen” is a term that’s been applicable to the band since Deserter’s Songs and “Are You Ready?” is a good example of how they do it. This one’s more of a rock song than first taste “The Queen of Swans” with a chorus that’s bursting with light (and flutes). Stream it at SoundCloud or via Spotify, below.
As mentioned, Mercury Rev’s tour stops in NYC when they headline Bella Union’s CMJ showcase at Le Poisson Rouge on October 15. The rest of the lineup still has yet to be announced but tickets are still available.
