Melbourne, Australia band Delivery will release Force Majeure, their second album and first for Heavenly Recordings, on January 17. They recorded it themselves before handing it over to Total Control’s Mikey Young to master it.
Like on their 2022 debut, Forever Giving Handshakes, Delivery deliver catchy, punky indie rock that owes a little to new wave and post punk. There are three songs you can hear now: “Digging a Hole” and “Operating at a Loss,” which were released earlier this year, and the new single is “Only a Fool,” which is equal parts hooks, snarl and attitude.
“‘Only A Fool’ might just be the most uninhibited moment in capturing this album’s all-in dynamic at full steam,” say the band. “Lisa brought in the guitar chords, vocal line and lyrics, and then gave everyone free rein to do their thing which means everyone’s individual flare gets a moment across the track. Also might explain why this song features Delivery’s only ever jam-out ending.” Listen to all three below.
