The album of songs from late country icon Glen Campbell‘s 2011 farewell album, Ghost on the Canvas, reimagined as duets, Glen Campbell Duets: Ghost on the Canvas Sessions, is out next month, and we’ve gotten another early taste with the new version of “The Long Walk Home,” featuring Mazzy Star‘s Hope Sandoval. It’s a gorgeous, melancholy rendition, and you can hear it below.
Producer Julian Raymond, who co-wrote the song with Campbell, says, “Glen and I listened to a couple of different Mazzy Star songs while we were preparing to record the Meet Glen Campbell album and after listening to ‘Mary of Silence’ he said ‘I can’t do better than that.’ He greatly admired Hope’s talent. Her vocal on ‘The Long Walk Home’ is just stunning and beautiful, you really feel the emotion of the song.”
