A man was shot in the ankle across the street from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center this afternoon, NBC New York reports. Police say that that he was shot after an argument, and that they’re searching for two suspects.
DNAinfo adds that pedestrians went running after the gunshots were here. A nearby hot dog vendor, Mohammed Ali, said “I walked down a little bit and saw someone on the floor. He was on his back. I saw blood coming from his leg. He’d been shot. He wasn’t saying much, but he was yelling about going to a hospital.”
The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
The mayor has been briefed on the shooting on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. The NYPD is on the scene and there is no reason for alarm.
