Grand Rapids, MI’s Major Murphy will follow up 2021’s terrific Access with their third album Fallout which will be out July 19 via Winspear. The album was produced by the band’s Jacob Bullard who says, “This is our most modern collection of songs.”
The first single from the album is “Time Out,” a wonderful two-minute slice of laid back guitar pop, with wonderful harmonies in the chorus and a synth line that tips a hat to The Cars. “This one is speaking to the cyclical nature of life and the way that is reflected in the movement of water on the planet. I think it’s a little bit of a lament that shifts to a kind of affirmation in the chorus; lamenting the grind of life but that within that heavy turnover there is also incredible beauty to be found.”
