Lush’s Emma Anderson announces new LP ‘Spiralée” ft Julia Holter, LoneLady, The Orielles & more (hear 4 tracks)

Lush cofounder Emma Anderson has announced new album Spiralée: Pearlies Rearranged, which will be out October 18 via Sonic Cathedral. It’s a full rework of her 2023 album Pearlies, featuring Julia Holter, LoneLady, The Orielles, deary, Lorelle Meets The Obsolete, MEMORIALS (Electrelane/Wire), Ladytron‘s Daniel Hunt, Concretism, Masal, and Witching Time.

“It was a chance to get some really inventive people to take the tracks and turn them on their heads and that’s exactly what has happened,” says Emma. “We selected an interesting array of artists and gave them the stems without any direction to see what they would come up with.” Don’t call it a remix album, though. Emma adds, “The result is absolutely brilliant and is a record that stands alone without even knowing what the originals are like.”

“I love Emma’s voice and the dreamy atmosphere of ‘Taste the Air’,” says Julia Holter of her mix of “Taste the Air.” “It was so fun to counterpoint the mesmerising vocal layers with rhythmic elements. I was honoured to fly through the clouds.”

You can listen to Holter’s rework now, along with Daniel Hunt’s rework of “Willow and Mallow,” deary’s dub mix of “For a Moment,” and MEMORIALS’ mix of “Inner Light.” Watch visualizers for all four below.
