North Carolina country singer Caleb Caudle is releasing his sixth album Sweet Critters on August 30 via Baldwin County Public Records/Missing Piece Records (pre-order), and we’re premiering its new single “Knee Deep Blues” today. Caleb tells us, “This song is about the things that keep me up at night. Like so many others, I struggle with anxiety and depression. They are both constantly lurking in the shadows, ready to take a bite. I wanted the chorus to be a mantra of sorts. Something I could sing each night to remind myself I have some say in the matter.” It’s a lovely song and that mantra of a hook lands with impact. Check it out below.
The album was produced by John Paul White and Ben Tanner, and it features collaborations with Allison Russell (“Heaven Sometimes”) and Aoife O’Donovan (“The Brim”). Caleb previously released the title track and you can check that out below as well.
Caleb also has several tour dates coming up, including NYC’s Cafe Wha on November 9. All dates are listed below.
