Liam Gallagher admits he was joking when he said Oasis had made a new album

You may recall back in September when Oasis announced they were going to reunite for shows in 2025, there was some fan speculation about whether there might be a new album to go along with it. On one of his X/Twitter tears, Liam Gallagher said a new LP was “already finished.” Liam says a whole lot of things on that particular social media platform, and would you be surprised to learn that he now says he was only joking about a new Oasis record?

“Let’s just calm the fuck down,” Gallagher posted on Saturday in response to an Oasis World story on the supposed new album. “There is no Oasis album in the making I was fucking joking remember them and the reason being because everyone is a little uptight these days I’m sorry if I have upset anyone but fuck me it was a laugh.” When someone replied asking why he loves playing with fans feelings, he wrote, “Coz I’m bored.”

New music still seems within the realm of possibility though. Meanwhile, Oasis still haven’t said who will be in the band besides Liam and brother Noel Gallagher. The first shows aren’t till July so there’s lots of time. And who’s to say he isn’t joking this time? Don’t play with our feelings, Liam!

Speaking of taking things Liam writes with a grain of salt, also on Saturday he posted to X, “Massive announcement incoming” and we’re still waiting on that one. Any guesses if “new album” is off the table?
