In between album releases, post-hardcore band La Dispute are always adding to their Here, Hear spoken word series. The latest, “Thirteen,” came out as a flexi disc to their merch subscribers in June, and now it’s streaming online. In case you’re not caught up with this series, the songs are often as essential as the material on their full lengths, and “Thirteen” is no exception. (That shouldn’t really be a surprise, since La Dispute incorporate spoken word into their music a lot anyway.) It’s a slow burner, powered mostly by a clean guitar and piano. Listen below.
