Justin Timberlake arrested on Long Island for alleged DUI

Justin Timberlake was arrested on Monday night (6/16) in Sag Harbor, NY, a spokesperson for Sag Harbor Police told CNN. He is accused of driving while intoxicated, and remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for Sag Harbor Justice Court tells CNN that Timberlake is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning (6/18).

A source told People that Timberlake had dinner at Sag Harbor’s The American Hotel ahead of his arrest, and was driving to a friend’s house when he was pulled over. The source told People that “nobody was hurt” and “He will be arraigned in about an hour.”

CNN and People both reached out to representatives for Timberlake, who have not commented at this time.

UPDATE: Rolling Stone obtained the court filing, which says that Timberlake was pulled over around 12:37 AM while driving a 2025 BMW. The filing says he didn’t “keep to the right side of the road” for multiple blocks and didn’t stop at a stop sign.

A filing by prosecutors based on statements from Sag Harbor Police OFficer Michael D. Arkinson claims that Timberlake’s “eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”

Timberlake’s lawyer, Ed Burke, made a statement to Us, which reads, “The charge was a single count because he refused the breath test. Mr. Timberlake was also charged with two other court citations, running a stop sign and not traveling in the correct traffic lane.”

Timberlake has been released from custody without bail, and Rolling Stone reports, via the Suffolk Count District Attorney’s Office, that his next court date is July 26, and will be held virtually.

Timberlake is in the midst of his arena tour, and has a show scheduled at Chicago’s United Center on Friday (6/21).
