UPDATE: Julien added an NYC makeup show this week.
After playing a set at All Things Go at Forest Hills Stadium last weekend, Julien Baker is back in NYC for her three-show Webster Hall residency, which she began on Saturday night (10/5). Katie Malco is opening all three shows, and night one was also with Torres, who invited Julien out during her set and came out during Julien’s set to debut a pair of new collaborative songs, as Stereogum points out. We don’t know the name of either one yet, but it seems like both could be from a country album the pair are rumored to have made together. Watch attendee-taken video of both songs below.
The Ophelias opened Sunday night’s (10/7) show, and Julien joined them for “Neil Young on High” from their album Crocus, which she features on; watch video of that below as well. Julien cut her own Sunday night set short, however, leaving the stage after “Funeral Pyre.” Her band started “Middle Children” without her, but her boygenius bandmate Lucy Dacus came out to tell the crowd that Julien was sick and the show was over. Hopefully she feels better in time for tonight’s (10/7) Webster Hall show, which is with Laura Stevenson. UPDATE: Tonight’s show is on, Julien says.
