Musicians, bandmates, and longtime couple Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires are getting divorced after nearly 11 years of marriage. Rolling Stone reports that, according to court records, Jason filed for divorce on December 15.
Jason and Amanda first collaborated on Jason’s 2011 album Here We Rest, she went on to join his band the 400 Unit, and he played on several of her records as well. They married in 2012 and gave birth to a daughter, Mercy Rose, in 2013. The ups and downs of their relationship has been subject of both of their songs, and they also factored heavily into HBO’s Jason Isbell documentary Running With Our Eyes Closed.
Neither has commented publicly on the divorce.
