NYC indie pop greats Ivy have announced Traces of You, their first album in 14 years, which will be out September 5 via Bar/None. “The world thought IVY was gone after 2012, and for a time we did too. And after Adam’s death in 2020 it seemed certain,” says the band’s Andy Chase. “So Dominique and I are thrilled to give everyone a brand new IVY album, with our beloved Adam playing on every song!”
While working on Ivy reissues, Chase and singer Dominique Durand stumbled across a box of reel-to-reel tapes featuring unreleased songs. They got ahold of Ivy keyboardist/guitarist Bruce Driscoll to help bring these songs back to life. As Chase mentioned, every song features Adam Schlesinger on bass with his family’s blessing.
The first single from the album is “Say You Will” which features Schlesinger on bass and keyboards and soon-to-be Oasis drummer Joey Waronker behind the kit. Watch the new video by Bruce Driscoll below.
No word on whether Ivy will play shows in support of this new album. Stay tuned.
