Asheville, North Carolina musician Indigo De Souza is one of the musicians whose home was affected by Hurricane Helene, and now she has cancelled the two dance events that she had scheduled to take place in LA and Asheville this October and shared some pics of the damages to her home. She writes:
Hello all:
Due to the devastating impact of hurricane Helene on my home and the places of my friends, family and neighbors, I’ve decided to cancel the dance events scheduled in LA and Asheville next month. I need to focus my attention on my community right now. Refunds will be automatically issued. If you have the means and would like to help, keep an eye on my instagram/this post for organizations to donate to. I will be posting them as they pop up. And thank you to everyone who has venmoed me. I am driving supplies into Asheville right now, and will continue to support local clean up and aid organizations.
My house was completely flooded and all my belongings destroyed. (pictured above)
Much of the town I live in has been wiped away or severely damaged. I don’t know what happens from here, but I have faith in my community, and I am grateful for the loving support of those around me. Thank you so much. Give your loved ones a big hug for me.some smaller on the ground known asheville orgs at this time (will update this)!:
