As mentioned, Phoebe Bridgers is scheduled to open The 1975‘s North American tour (if it happens) and she appears on a song off their upcoming album, and today that song has been released. It’s called “Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America,” and Phoebe’s contribution isn’t just a backing vocal role or anything; this song is a full-fledged duet between Phoebe and The 1975’s Matty Healy, and it’s done in a hushed, intimate acoustic style that’s closer to Phoebe’s music than The 1975’s usual work. The 1975 are also one of the many bands/artists who delayed their new album due to coronavirus. Notes on a Conditional Form now comes out May 22 via Dirty Hit/Interscope.
