Canadian post-rock giants Godspeed You! Black Emperor came back in a huge way with 2012’s Allejuah! Don’t Bend! Ascend!, which was their first record since 2002 and easily ranked amongst their best work. So it’s pretty exciting that they’re keeping this reunion going and aren’t making us wait another ten years for its followup. Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress, their sixth album, will be out March 31 via Constellation (pre-order) and an 8-minute clip of opening track “Peasantry or ‘Light! Inside of Light!'” is out now. So far this thing sounds like a trip through early prog and Middle Eastern-tinged psych rock, and it’s keeping us pretty excited for where they’ll go next.
