We’re sad to report that Franz Ferdinand founding guitarist Nick McCarthy is parting ways with the band. Franz Ferdinand posted this on their Facebook this morning:
On the plus side, it all sounds super amicable with an open door for the future. On the negative side, Nick McCarthy was essential to the sound of Franz Ferdinand, bringing a manic energy, and unique guitar/vocal style that will be hard to replicate. Hopefully Nick will continue to make music as Box Codax.
