DJ Koze has announced new album, Music Can Hear Us, which will be out April 4 via Pampa. It’s his first album since 2018’s Knock Knock, though he did produce/co-write Roisin Murphy’s 2023 album Hit Parade.
While full details on the album are still under wraps, he has shared its first single, “Pure Love,” which was cowritten by Damon Albarn who also provides lead vocals. “In a fashion of proper slow cooking and letting go, we finally came up with this lovely song,” says Koze. “If you’re in a hurry, go slowly as they say. Thank you, Damon, for walking this path with me.” Adds Damon, “This tune has been through a profound metamorphosis over the last few years. I loved it as an egg, I loved it as a caterpillar, I loved it as a pupa, and I still love it. Thank you, Koze.”
