Paramore are Record Store Day Ambassadors for 2024, and they have a few special releases coming out for the occasion. Their cover of “Burning Down the House” from the upcoming Talking Heads tribute album will be pressed to side B of a 12″, with side A featuring a new cover of their song “Hard Times” by David Byrne. RSD calls it “an extremely limited run exclusive for Record Store Day in 2024.”
“Paramore recorded an amazing version of ‘Burning Down The House’ for a Stop Making Sense covers album that A24 is doing in connection with the re-release of the film,” Byrne wrote on Twitter. “That song is out now. The band told me that their song ‘Hard Times’ was inspired by Talking Heads, so I learned it and recorded my version of their great song with a horn section. This was fun! The 12″ is available on Record Store Day 2024 -More info and a store near you at http://recordstoreday.com”
Paramore’s 2023 “almost a remix album,” featuring remixes and reworkings of all 10 tracks on This Is Why by Julien Baker, Bartees Strange, Panda Bear, Wet Leg, The Linda Lindas, Foals, Romy of The xx, Claud, DOMi & JD Beck, Remi Wolf, and Zane Lowe, is also getting its first physical release for RSD, on 2LP Ruby + Bone vinyl (which comes with the standard album) and single black LP.
Record Store Day is Saturday, April 20, and you can see all the exclusive releases HERE.
